Esu se disfrazó de un muchacho joven y fue a donde estaba Orunmila en su casa para que el hiciera una adivinación. Salió para Esu que debía ser iniciado en Ifá para que pudiera alinear su espíritu y para que todas las cosas le resultaran bien, sin dificultad. Esu le había dicho a Orunmila que no tenía padres. Esu era huérfano, no tenía dinero, no tenia posiciones materiales ni nada y fue a donde estaba Orunmila a pedirle un préstamo y Orunmila empeñó a uno de sus hijos en la finca de una persona rica para que trabajase hasta que pudiera pagar la deuda que tendría. Entonces Orunmila fue hasta el mercado y compró todos los materiales necesarios para la iniciación.
Estuvieron durante 7 días realizando la iniciación. Después de haber hecho todos los ofrecimientos y rituales, el muchacho desconocido (Esu Odara) fue al palacio de Alara en el pueblo de Ilara el cual estaba enfrentando un problema muy difícil en ese momento. Esu le dijo al rey que contactara con Orunmila rápidamente y este mando a buscar a Orunmila que a su vez hizo adivinación y le dijo al rey los materiales que debía de usar para realizar el ebo y los rituales apropiados.
De esta forma, Orunmila regresó con muchos regalos y mercancías e hizo lo mismo en el pueblo de Ijero, en el pueblo de Ajero y luego después en el pueblo de Ila Orangun.
Esu después regresó s donde estaba Orunmila al día 17 después de la iniciación pero esta vez en su forma real y explico a Orunmila que el había sido el joven desconocido al que él inició y que le había contactado unos 20 días atrás y que el había ido a esos lugares a representar a Ornumila y le pregunto a Orunmila si había pagado el préstamo que había pedido. Él le dijo a Orunmila que el Odu de Ifa Ogbe Irosun es suficiente como para que cada sacerdote de Ifá conozca sus funciones primordiales y para que ayuden a las personas necesitadas.
